    JPE wins six Music Nova Scotia Awards

    We are proud to announce that JPE has won six Music Nova Scotia Awards for Ashtray Rock in the categories of Pop Rock Artist/Recording, Video of the Year ( Fashionable People ), Group of the Year, Socan Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. It is a great thrill to be honored by the Nova Scotia Music industry for all the hard work and touring that the band is doing. Thank you to everyone.

    The Bucky Awards are CBC Radio 3’s annual year-end awards in Canadian music, and the winners are decided by Canada’s music fans in online voting at http://radio3.cbc.ca/buckyawards

    We are thrilled to have “Fashionable People� nominated in the Best Falsetto category, Best Video category and Joel nominated in the category for Musician Most Likely to have Future Career in Television.

    Voting runs from Nov 1 – Nov 30, 2007. Winners will be unveiled in a special live broadcast on cbcradio3.com during the week of December 17th, 2007.


    CBC Radio 3 Sessions Volume 3 CD

    The CBC Radio 3 Sessions Volume 3 CD was released by MapleMusic on October 9’th, 2007. This CD are available in music stores across the country and it is also available on-line (through i-Tunes). www.cbcradio3.com It features No Where With You and songs from many other great Canadian artists.


    Emergency drummer, Dave Marsh, has a new record of his killer songs called The True Love Rules (buy it here).


    Chris Pennell also plays in Yellow Jacket Avenger.


    The soulful Peter Elkas often joins the Emergency on keys and guitar.


    Ana Egge & Rose Cousins sang on Joel's new record, Three.


    Ingram Barss took all the photos for "Three".


    Rebecca Kraatz creates beautiful woodburn artwork and award winning comics. She made the artwork for Ashtray Rock, LaDeDa and In Need of Medical Attention.


    Two Hours Traffic from Charlottetown, PEI write great songs. Joel produced their last two records.


    Old Man Luedecke is a banjo picker and fantastic songwriter.


    Gordie Johnson produced Ashtray Rock and Make a Little Noise. He rocks out as Grady.


    Mr. Chill aced the harmonica on Ashtray Rock.


    Al Tuck is the longtime friend and fellow musician who penned Wishing Well and other classics.


    Joel used to play in Thrush Hermit and Neuseiland.


    Former band mates Ian McGettigan and Rob Benvie now play in Camouflage Nights.


    Joel and The Emergency have cut records at The Sonic Temple, Flying Blanket Recording, Phase One Studios, Pedernales Studio and Ultramagnetic Recording.


    Joel Plaskett uses the Neumann KM 105 exclusively live. Joel is also recording his new album using ( Sennheiser & Neumann Microphones ) that were graciously supplied by Sennheiser Canada.
